Herbal Wound Care Advisory Service
Case submissions are open by prior agreement.
I offer a wound advisory service for herbalists who want another clinical perspective on a defined question. A wound belongs to a person: its appearance matters alongside circulation, inflammation, tissue state, medicines, nutrition, sleep, stress and the practical realities of care.
The aim is to bring supplied wound information and whole-person herbal reasoning together, helping you identify priorities, recognise uncertainty and consider support that fits safely alongside the existing care plan.
Who the service is for
The initial pilot is intended for UK qualified and newly qualified herbalists. Advanced students require formal supervision and prior agreement; related practitioners will be considered individually. Overseas referrals are outside the routine pilot. Each practitioner must work within their own competence, professional responsibilities and insurance.
Review options and introductory fees
Rapid wound safety screen — £20
One wound photograph and brief details, reviewing urgency concerns, referral advice and the appropriate next level of review. No formula or full report. Normal planning time: two working days.
Focused wound advice note — £40
One wound and one defined question, with provisional interpretation, risk review, a TIME snapshot, main healing barriers, care-team questions and broad herbal direction with cautions. Normal planning time: three to five working days. TIME considers tissue, infection or inflammation, moisture and the wound edge.
Full wound advisory report — £70
A detailed agreed report covering wound interpretation, risk, TIME, healing barriers, conventional-care questions, herbal strategy, contraindications and review markers. Normal planning time: five to ten working days.
Follow-up photo comparison — £20
Comparison with a previous advisory record and images, considering reported changes, uncertainty, revised priorities and escalation concerns. A new wound or materially different question may need a new review. Deadline agreed individually.
Wound supervision or teaching — £35 per hour
An agreed educational discussion. Duration, platform and any written output are confirmed before booking; recording is not included by default. Deadline agreed individually.
These are introductory pilot fees. A written quote will confirm the scope, total payable and delivery date. Review windows begin only after written acceptance, payment and adequate information, with any applicable cancellation arrangements addressed. An enquiry does not mean a case has been accepted.
Clinical responsibilities and limits
I am responsible for the advice I provide within the agreed scope. The referring practitioner retains responsibility for their patient relationship, direct assessment or arranging it, prescribing decisions, implementation, referral and follow-up.
Advice based on supplied information is provisional. A photograph cannot reliably exclude infection, poor circulation, deep damage or other serious pathology. This service does not provide emergency triage, ongoing monitoring, a replacement for direct medical assessment or a guarantee of healing. Dressing changes, compression, vascular assessment and offloading remain with appropriately trained clinicians and the existing care team.
Urgent medical or safeguarding action must take priority over an enquiry or waiting for a reply. Herbal support must not delay necessary assessment or interfere with prescribed wound care.
Arrange a case submission
Email karl@elderroots.co.uk with your professional background and the type of support you are interested in. Please do not send patient identifiers, histories or wound photographs at this stage.
After written case acceptance, you will receive the relevant terms, practitioner submission form, patient privacy information, permission form and secure-submission instructions. Confirm privacy delivery and sharing permission before sending case material. Use the agreed case code and encrypted attachment, with its password supplied separately by phone or text. Please wait for these instructions; do not send an unsolicited case.
